Hard drive question

Hello im building a new computer, and was looking to get a 4tb. But then i heard that hd usually fails, so i went safe and started thinking about just getting a 2tb hdd. And was looking to get another 2 tb another time. My question is if i get another 2tb what can i do with it? can i combine the otehr and make 4 tb?

if your computer case has multiple hard drive slots then you can combine the 2 - 2TB drives for a total of 4tb

Just use them as 2 discreet drives. C & D.

like can i download my OS to a 2tb hdd, then my games on the otehr 2 tb hdd? for maximum speed

OS and applications on one drive, other stuff on another drive, is very common and recommended.
Won't necessarily be 'faster', but very stable.
