This is a two-parter, and I have no idea if they're related or not.
I recently built this computer (about a month old). It's running an
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti
CPU: AMD FX 6300
RAM: 8 Gb (G.Skill Ripjaws X (9-9-9-24))
OS: Windows 7 Ult 64 bit
Monitors: 1x Acer x213H @ 1920X1080 (DVI), 1x Dell IN1910N @ 1366X766 (VGA)
Question 1): Ever since I first turned on the machine, before having updated any drivers, and before running a multi-monitor setup, I've noticed faint, flickering horizontal lines that slowly move from the bottom of the display to the top. After making sure everything was updated to the latest drivers, and making sure all the settings were correct (AFAIK, anyway), it's still there.
It's completely unnoticeable on lighter backgrounds, only when on a dark backdrop, like my DT wallpaper. It has become less noticeable, but has been replaced with more of a solid flicker, as opposed to lines moving up the display. The monitor's max refresh rate is 60 Hz, so that's what everything is set to, across the board.
This is all only on the Acer monitor; the Dell doesn't have any of these issues, and never has.
Question 2): I notice, in some games, some significant horizontal tearing. HL2, Mirror's Edge, Skyrim and Oblivion, War Thunder, Rust, etc. all display this. I've found that turning on VSync in-game solves this, but is there any sort of a more elegant workaround? If not, oh well.
Again, AFAIK, this is only an issue on the Acer, not the Dell.
Thanks for any help and insight.
