Hello. I want to buy a new Keyboard and mouse mainly for gaming. I play all kinds of games but mostly MMORPG and FPS games. I'd rather they not be wireless so that I don't have to change the batteries all the time. I'm looking to spend about $100.00 for both but am willing to spend more for great products. Thanks!

Well for a mouse I'd recommend the Razer Naga, It has 12 programmable buttons on the side, so perfect for MMOORPGs, or if you are more on the FPS side, The Shogun Bros MK1 Ballista

For keyboard, for a good all rounder, I'd just go with either the Razer blackwidow or Steelseries Apex

Do you need extra buttons on the mouse and macro keys on your keyboard?

Truthfully, I don't know. Till now I've just been playing on an old Compaq keyboard lol and my mouse is a logitech mouse with two buttons on the side and a scroll. The only games where I could wind up needing the extra buttons is like Legend said in MMORPGs. I'm currently playing Star Wars: The Old Republic and I have a minimum of 25 keybinds. I use 1-6, Q,E,Z,X,C,F,R and shift+ Q,E,Z,X,C,F,R... Also, the 2 side buttons and scroll button are invaluable to me here because I use them for another 6 of my keybinds. I have gotten used to this and it serves me very well for the most part but truthfully there are some minor or extra abilities that I simply have a hard time keybinding because after 25 or so keybinds it becomes difficult for me to make more that are comfortable for me.

I've been wanting to try out one of those Razer Naga mice with all those buttons but I dunno... I'm so used to this already and I don't know how I would do with that mouse. As for Macro keys on the keyboard, I've never had those either but I guess it couldn't hurt right.

I had that feeling before my first gaming mice, but after a week or so, your hand will just adjust to it, I have the deathadder 2013 and I've loved it, it has 2 side buttons, one for my password ( Risky I know, but it's ;like over 20 characters long) and one for other stuff, and my friends who have the Naga play WoW and stuff and they tell me it really helps with the amount of spells that they need to use etc. As for the keyboard, macros help you a lot aswell, but I think the mouse is more important

So you think I should get the Naga? How is it for FPS games though? I play Titanfall a lot as well. I play a lot of different games.
That MK1 Ballista mouse looks sweet too.

Well The Deathadder for a all rounder thing ( It only has 2 side buttons, but really comfy) Or, if you play more MMORPG, then go for naga, even for FPS, the Naga is good as it has adjustable DPI settings and you can still program the macros on the side, the mk1 Ballista is more of a FPS thing only mouse. So for all rounder, you won't be dissapointed with the Naga, especially if you use a lot of spells in WoW

Best solution

The 3 best solutions for mouse are:
Deathadder 2013
Roccat kone pure military
Logitech g502
I'd recommend the kone pure military or the g400 if you're on a tight budget.
Imo your muscle memory will not recall which sidebutton is assigned to each command, 2 sidebuttons , i think, are enough on a mouse since all the extras are next to just a thumb.
However the keyboard is a different story , even in fps i needed some extra macro keys. It may benefit you for your type of game you play

Hello again. I went to microcenter the other day and got a Deathadder 2013 and Blackwidow Ultimate Stealth keyboard. I have about 25 days left to return them if I wish to. So far though, I'm really liking these products.
