RAM channel not being recognised, any way to fix?

I have triple channel ram, and long story short, I thought I had faulty ram so I was trying to diagnose which one it was, when all of a sudden, my computer wouldn't boot, and I realised 3 out of the 6 slots had just totally stopped working, all belonging to the same channel.

No ram put into them gets recognised, but it still heats up, though I'm not sure if that's just from the heat of the working slots.

Is it likely I'll never be able to use those slots again, or is there a way to fix it? I found the cause of the crashes and sorted it, just leaving me the problem of the ram slots.

If it helps, my motherboard is a p6x58d-e

Will that involve having to reapply the thermal paste? Also bear in mind it was working totally fine until I started testing the different slots (3 sticks in one channel, test it out, put the other 3 in the other channel, test it etc), don't think I would have nudged the cpu as it has low profile watercooling over it

The bench it thing however looks more for if the computer isn't working at all, for the chance it's just the motherboard which is dying, taking the entire thing apart is a bit too much effort haha

Well if you hadn't been using the the different slots, then it may have been like that all along...and simply loosening the cooler and snugging it back up doesn't require reapplying the TC (thermal compound)....there's other things that could affect the MC and slots, may have something on the bottom of the mobo, could have a minor short from the standoffs, etc

Ah no, I had been using all the slots before, but at the time it died, I was testing 3 sticks at once, as trying to find a dodgy stick or two out of 6 ones is quite time consuming.
Guess I'll have to try slightly loosening it, though the fan overlaps the bit attached to the cpu, so I'd have to take that off too which would be a pain :p

Very strange haha, thanks for the help, but they've randomly started working again after months of being dead :p I attempted to give the cooler a little wiggle, but it's very securely in place and didn't move, so I dunno if it was that (haven't tried booting with them for a few weeks), and also in the process I've found the other source of crashes :)

I'll write it here in case someone searches google with a similar problem of crashing a lot in game, but I have triple channel ram which generates a lot of heat, so I thought it might be a overheating problem, but I eventually found razer game booster made the system unstable when activated, and disabling windows aero would also cause everything to freeze under heavy load.
