I'm not really sure, but I think it's better if you go with an R9 290X which goes for about 320$ (It gives a huuuuge advantage and it's heaps better than the 270) and I5-4770K which can be overclocked in the future. (for a bit more cash ofc :d) you also want to get an SSD its crucial for load times makes them faster as for PSU I think it's overpriced :d might wanna re-consider that

Sorry I forgot to mention that I am in Australia and prices are a lot more here, like the 290x is 600 or more. The 4770K is about $100 extra and also he wont be overclocking thats for sure. I was thinking about SSD because i have one and I love it but I felt its a bit out his price range, if I were to convince him to get a 120gb SSD, what woudl you reccommend. Also most 650w psu that are 80+ certified are going to be above $100.

Thanks for the quick response.

PNY Optima 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($89.99 @ Newegg) I guess this one is in your price range :)! oh then forget about the r9 290 and the 4770k if he wont overclock, build should run BF4 online with 50+ FPS imo, so it's pretty fine the way it is, just add an SSD it works miracles
