Hi all, I'm working on buying all the parts for my first build and I stumbled across this deal on Newegg today: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130779

It's a MSI Z97 PC Mate for $70. I really don't know much about motherboards. I know this is compatible with my parts, but I don't know how good of a deal this price is.

Here's my full build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/97jpzy

CPU: Intel Core i3-4130 3.4GHz Dual-Core Processor ($109.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($82.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($54.98 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI Radeon R7 260X 2GB Video Card (Purchased For $99.99)
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply (Purchased For $49.99)
Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($16.98 @ OutletPC)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) (Purchased For $92.00)
Monitor: Acer G246HLAbd 60Hz 24.0" Monitor (Purchased For $129.00)
Total: $775.90
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

So is this a good deal on a good motherboard or should I keep looking? Thanks. :)

Solution
There are nicer boards but the MSI one is a decent budget one
You can even get a Pentium and OC it to nearly match an i3 :p

you also already bought a nunch of stuff :p

changed case and ram

I think it is great for you.

And I use msi z97 gaming 5 now, it has a lot improvement than before, I think z97 pc mate is ok, too.

Moreover, will you try overclock??

If yes, you need a CPU for k series.

If no...amm...anyway…that is ok:)

Just take it.(or you want save some money, take stickmansam’s suggest)
