I recently purchased a new laptop (Asus Q501LA) refurbished. It has been working great the past few days but today it's been having what appears to be graphical issues (link to a picture towards the bottom).

I've noticed that this seems to only happen when there is something that is predominantly white taking up the screen (earlier, I noticed some slight flicker issues when something white was on the screen. I chalked it up to the refurbished laptop not having a perfect screen and since it usually went away quickly and didn't impact performance I didn't look into it) If I use a non-white webpage, it works perfectly fine. This becomes even more dramatic sometimes - if I use a full screen metro app (and sometimes normal applications) that are mostly white, the monitor just seems to turn off. The fan is still spinning and lights are still on. The only way to continue using my computer is to put it to sleep using the power button, waking it up, then quickly switching back to something that's not white before the monitor turns off again.

Oddly enough, if I relegate the window to one of the sides of the screen, it works fine. Do you guys have any ideas on how to solve this? If not, I'm considering returning it to the seller and maybe getting another one because this is making it really annoying to use this computer.

Display drivers are up to date, and this only happens occasionally and I have been unable to find any similarities between the times it does happen or not other than the fact it only happens on white applications.

I also have a picture of what the flickering looks like if that would help diagnose my issue.

Thanks for any help you could provide!
