Alright so like the title says i need some NON BIASED OPINIONS!!! I emphasize on the NON BIAS.I returned my r9 290 ASUS version cause it was getting too hot, read some reviews on tomshardware i guess 2 heat pipes aren't reaching contact with the GPU so I am deciding on R9 290 Toxic version by sapphire or EVGA 780.

everyone says "driver support' Ive owned a hd 7870( no problems) owned a r9 290 ( no problems) where are all these complications that nvidia fanboi coming from. Anyone give a legit answer on true facts. Cause ive read review after review, benchmark after benchmark and r9 290 is always outperforming the 780 unless its like watch dogs.

More about : honest opinions nvidia amd specifically 290 gtx 780

it's impossible to get non-biased opinions, because the only people who can offer an opinion are the one's who have paid their hard earned money to buy one or the other because they think it was best. So they are biased towards which one they bought.

They can only say why they bought the one they did, which is normally by reading reviews (many are biased) and listening to biased opinions on forums!

The reason I bought my R9-290 was because its performance was generally comparable to the GTX780, it was cheaper, it had 4GB Vram as I use 3 monitors, the Sapphire tri-X cooler is great and Mantle might give some improvements.

I would recommend against the reference R9-290's as the AMD cooler is crap.

I would say the 290 is going to be the better option for you in price vs. performance, as well as other reasons stated above.

As for the driver support being a reason to go nvidia, nvidia does tend to have more driver updates and faster updates when something new comes out. This isn't to say anything is wrong with Amds drivers just that nvidia gets a bit of a boost in performance out of their drivers

I'd be weighing up an Asus 780 against a Gigabyte R9 290. The 780 is a better performer but the r9 290 (especially Gigabyte) is cheaper.

Both are equally good. Some games perform better with nvdia and aum better with amd. The question of the day is which 3rd market co is making a better cooler for the lineup of gpus and how efficient ia the driver support. Nvidia might beexpensive but I heard a provide a good eexperience in gaming. Amd is the underdog showing that mid2 high range can be in the affordable segemnt of the market and do have variety game offers upon buying a gpu. So until u try both its kind hard to say which is better. So far amd hasnt let me down but I intend to go nvidia soon 4 a change.

Nvidia just plain has more money to invest in Research and Development and it shows. From driver support to new technologies, Nvidia is leading the way while AMD is playing catch up and usually not very well at that. Fact, non-biased.

AMD, more bang for your buck. AMD cards are often cheaper and offer very similar performance to their Nvidia equivalents. CPUs are a different story though.
