can't infall windows 8.1 no drives found :( please help first build

i just finished building my first gaming pc. I went to infall windows 8.1 OEM DVD only to see the error No drives found. My HDD seagate barracuda 2TB shows up in my BIOS but not window installation. this is really pissing me off.....also i can't use another windows computer because my house only has macs thats why i built this one. Please help :( its really stressing me out.

Please post the model of your motherboard. This will help with determining if there are any drivers for things such as the SATA controller that need to be loaded before you can install windows.

its a MSI z97 gaming 5 mobo.

Looking at the motherboard, it looks like there are 8 SATA ports. SATA ports 1 - 6 are connected to the Z97 chipset. SATA ports 7 & 8 are connected to the ASMedia ASM1061 chipset. Make sure your hdd is connected to ports 1 - 6 as the windows installer may not have the necessary drivers to see the SATA ports 7 & 8, even though they are seen in the BIOS.
