Hello I have a question for you guys that I can't seem to find the answer too.

My mom has her modem in the garage for some reason.

She also has a blue ethernet cable jack ran through the wall in the office. This is where I want to set up a router.

The only issue is that I can't seem to get any signal out of the jack no matter what.

Even if I connect the end of the cable that's through the wall directly into the back of the modem I don't seem do be able to get any signal when I connect something into the jack.

What I can do is take a male to male ethernet cable connect it directly into the modem then stick the other end into the router and bam I get signal.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the signal to run through the wall?

Start with the obvious, take a new short cable and the router and a laptop to the garage. Setup everything in the garage on a table. Ensure it all works that way. If that all works, then follow Bill001g's suggestion and check the quality/completeness of the thru-wall cable connection. Spend $20 to $50 at Frys (or equivalent) to get an RJ45 tester which will at least allow you to check sequence and continuity of all 8 strands in an RJ45.
Not sure why I can not get your picture but it is likely the jack is wired incorrectly. Although you can get by with 2 pair you really want all 4 pair of wires correctly connected to the jack. There are many many diagrams you can search for that show ethernet connections. You want to make sure BOTH ends are wired the same either with 568a or 568b color pattern.
