R9 290 sound card conflict

I had just purchased a R9 290. Before discovering my psu was not supplying the card with sufficient power, I had found that after installing the card along with Catalyst v14.4 the onboard audio on my GPU was conflicting with my Audigy 2 zs. Even after disabling the sound card on my GPU the sound blaster refused to put out any sound. I need help resolving this issue because I would hate to have to game with no sounds. I'm not sure, but I do believe the conflict could be happening because I'm using an HDMI cable instead of DVI. Cheers :)

If you are using the HDMI port on the video card then physically uninstall the sound card and let it rest for a bit. The sound card can't pass audio through the video card or its HDMI port.
