budget $1200, i want a gaming build for my pc i've decided to go with

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ( $250)
Video card: gtx 770 ( $360)
memory: 8gb ( $100)
power supply/case/motherboard/cooler: estimating would cost around $300- $400
storage: 500gb - 1tb drive, willing to spend up to $100 no more

am i missing something? i dont really need a monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers. this is an idea of what i want can someone please write me a build similar to this and within this budget, i'd be really appreciative since im new to this, thanks very much

Good build, but is that motherboard not a bit over the top? I mean this is a MB for people who want to OC and SLI... It certainly is futureproof, though, but considering the PSU you take, I would go for a more entry level Z97 board...like Asus Z97K?

i already have windows, sorry ! forgot to mention ...agh , can you please re-review your build, i dont need an OS just 1200$ budget on desktop i got everything else

Slightly less powerful CPU (slightly), cheaper mobo, better GPU and better power supply (nothing wrong with the XFX 550w though). I left the aftermarket cooler in there even though it's a non-k CPU because OP lives in oz and it's bloody hot there, mate :)

got u the xeon because its exactly like an i7 4770k but locked and not as expensive. so basically u will have a 4physical cores+ 4 ht cores so almost like a 8core computer :)
