A few days ago I tried starting my PC but it didn't start. At first it didn't boot at all no beep sounded nor anything else then I tried again and a message appeared on screen saying Award bootblock and under that it said scanning BIOS image on HDD.I left it some time there but nothing happened then I tried reseating the CMOS battery but again nothing changed.By the way everything else starts up normally, fans spin normal and no weird sounds. Also sometimes nothing shows up on screen and other times the message stated before shows Up.What can it be? Any suggestions on how to fix it are appreciated!

Solution
Simply "Re-seating" the CMOS battery is rarely necessary to fix anything and does nothing, you may have have mis-read the word "Reset" for "Re-seat" wherever you read it.

What you need to try is a "Reset" of the BIOS, not re-seat the battery.

Although you can still remove the battery to reset the BIOS , there's more to it than just that.
