Hello,

I am going to buy a new graphics card & I am thinking about Gigabyte GTX 660 OC 2GB, MSI R9 270x 2 GB Gaming or Gigabyte R9 270x 2 GB OC

I want to know if there is a different in performance between the Gigabyte or MSI r9 270x.

so gigabyte runs cooler, bit louder and slightly lower overclock, msi heats up slightly more, quieter and has a better (20mhz not that you'd notice it) overclock.

i don't own either but i suspect if you play with the max temps/fan speeds you match msi 's values or better, the windforce cooler is great. they traded noise (which is still acceptable) for the lower temps on the default settings. msi allows theirs to get hotter so as not to spin the fans so fast.

edit: get the better price or longer warranty, they are both great cards.

Ambient temperature and the choice of cases will change the temperature and noise levels. You can make a custom fan profiles for both cards so it doens't really matter really for noise or temperature to an extent.
In my opinion, get whichever is the cheapest out of the MSI and Gigabyte R9 270X.

As an example, my MSI R9 270 is overclocked , max temps i get is 65C when using a one-to one fan profile between temperature and fan speed.
