Hi Guys!

Its my first day @ TH,

I am going to build myself a decent rig, Need help with the same.

Kindly suggest MOBO under $320 or Rupees 19.5K

So far i have selected, below components:

1. Processor: Intel 3.4 GHz LGA 1150 4670K i5
2. Mobo: ??
3. RAM: Corsair Vengeance: 1833(2*4GB)
4. Cooler: Deepcool Assassin
5. Graphics Card: Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R9 270X with Boost OC 4 GB DDR5
6. Cooler Master HAF 912 Combat Mid Tower Cabinet

Any suggestions other than MOBO and components already listed above also welcome.

With special requirements i meant wifi or 8+ sata or other extras on the board.
Anyways that board is great, very solid. It has the Z97 chipset which will support the upcoming 5th gen processors from intel and also supports overclocking.
Also depending on your needs you can up the motherboard a bit to a ASUS Z97-Pro or a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H.

For the graphics card part, for 1080p gaming now a 270X 2GB is enough. What will happen in the future i don't know. But There aren't many games out there that uses above 2gb of video memory. So you should be fine with that.
Take a look at some benchmarks about the 270X(on one of the most taxing game right now): http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-r9-280x-r9-270x-r7-260x,3635-11.html

Buddy,

Thanks for the response, i want to add here that - this system build is for gaming(mainly FPS and RTS) after office hours(whenever time allows) - i would like to retain it for atleast 5 years with option for future upgrade(time to time) if the pocket allows

I have never even tried/ seen/ experienced over-clocking in a PC - still going for overclocking 'system' for the simple reason that i might have an option to learn about it and may be use it to my benefit - having said that i really do not want to put the system hardware into risk of potential damage.

I will be using single monitor FHD @ 120-144 Hz @ 1-2 mS, to fully utilize the potential of 'rig' under discussion.

Having gone through few forums over last 10 days trying to understand, what i am landing myself into, some discussions also say that for single monitors @ fhd/ 3D - i will not need card like "Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon R9 270X with Boost OC 4 GB DDR5 " - that 2 GB would be enough, also the said card is 256 Bit - i wonder how would that effect performance.

I know i have asked a lot, thanks for all the trouble answering.

Warm regards, Manish

Thanks a lot !

Well that resolves most of my doubts regarding MoBo + G. Card ....

Still request your inputs on( i have again gone through forum treads on below as well - can't make out any clear verdict for sure):

- ASUS GRAPHICS CARD R9 280X DC2 TOP 3GB DDR5
- XFX Radeon R9 280X R9-280X-TDFD 3GB DDR5 Graphic Card
- SAPPHIRE GRAPHICS CARD R9 280 3GB DDR5 DUAL-X OC

Going with the Mobo + G Card, as advised by you .... should i revisit the processor again

- Intel® CoreTM i7-4790 or i7-4790K ??

Warm regards, Manish

All the three brands are great. I usually prefer ASUS cards over others but this time i won't recommend you that. This card has problems with VRAM cooling and it's causing artifacts issues for some people. Go with the XFX model just because it's cheaper right now and performs similar as the other ones.

About the cpu, get the 4790K model, it's fully overclockable. The 4790 can't be overclocked(you can actually but ut's very very limited). The 4790K will perform better than.
