Hi, I have a 8350 with a 212 Evo and I'm having issues when the cpu has been under load it doesn't really want to go down to it's idle temp, 34-36, (socket temp) it goes really slowly down even with all chassi fans on max speed, and doesn't seem to want to go below 40 degrees. As when I start the computer it stays around 34-36 idle temp, and doesn't really increase much if I'm not putting it under load (playing BF3-4 makes it up to 61 degrees max) with two Noctua P12 pwm fans. So I'm just wondering if this is normal or if something is wrong?

Solution
Well the delta (difference between your CPU and the air) will be approximately 10-15C with the 212 and the 8350 at stock clocks, so you are pretty good! I would suggest if anything, that you just reseat your cooler and re apply the thermal paste.

I'm running it at stock 4.0 Ghz, turbo core off, Cool and quiet on. At the moment my ambient temp is quite high around 26 degrees. Case is a Fractal design R4 with stock fans, two intake front, one exhaust. Push and pull on the 212 evo, with Noctua fans. Gpu is a Msi 770 twin frozr.

Alright, i forgot to mention that my idle temp at the moment is around 42, that's actually the only problem i have at the moment, as it doesn't seem to want to go down to the temps that were when I started up the computer.

Ah good, I've been hearing so many different stories haha! Some say it's around 5 more or something but that seems as if it's only possible with watercooling. Well actually the stock 212 fan was quite more powerful than these two Noctuas, with a few degrees. but these are more quiet though.
