I wonder if there is any working option for PC monitor (LCD monitor, not TV) that is connected over some sort of WiFi connection (Miracast, WiFi Direct,...) with desktop PC? That monitor should be the only screen, not like a second screen solution. Like a real "HDMI over WiFI".

I know with Windows 8.1 you can extend to a second monitor using Miracast or something compatible, however, to be a primary monitor it is not possible.

If you're looking for a home theater solution, let us know what you are trying to accomplish and perhaps we can help you reach that goal. A small box HTPC hooked up to your monitor with a wireless mouse/keyboard combination might be more what you're looking for if that's the case.

Thanks on your answers. Actualy I want to make an desktop PC, quite one, that would stay in one corner and I want to have mobility in working location. Let say I want to work in another corner. So, I can connect WiFi keyboard, mouse, and I need something for monitor. I know, notebook is invented, for some time now, but I need an desktop since it has some advantages over notebook (heating, hardware flexibility, etc) and because some specific not important reasons. Maybe it is silly, but I need that.
