nvidia gts 450 gddr 5 vs nvidia gt 640 ddr3 which is better

Probably the gts450. Most of the x40 and below cards have only one or two SMX units, x50 cards usually have 3 or 4. Since they bothered to put GDDR5 on the gts450 it is likely a rebranded gaming card from a few generations ago.
Honestly,don't buy any of those.They're neither gonna let you play or save you from a pick-pocket.
You would be better off saving a bit more.try to squeeze a bit more money,and you will be rewarded for that.
try to buy atleast a GTX 650 or 650ti,even you can try GTX 750 for that.You can also have AMD options R7 260,R7 260X,R7 265 are also viable candidates.At the end of the day don't buy any of those you mentioned.And chose either of the above on the sale day.Its fine if you get any of these for a great offer.
If you happened to live in India ( by your name)you can get great sales from online retailers.Check them out!

PS; neither above will bottleneck that system.but don't go above these cards,since you don't get the best out of those (R9 270,GTX 660 or GTX 760)
