Hello everyone,

I have been struggling with choosing the right graphics card for my build for over a month now, reading up on benchmarks, articles, anything I could find.Quite frankly I am kinda lost at this point.

My price range is around 350-400 GBP / 600-680 USD / 450-500 Euros (more or less )

R9 290x has impressed me with its value for money compared to the nvidia graphics cards at that price range.

Is powercolor pcs+ as good as the sapphire tri-x and the msi gaming one? Which one is better?

Solution

I would go with the MSI, if that's the case!

Hope it all works out for you.

Powercolor's won't cool the card as well [and isn't as good of a manufacturer], but aside from heat, will perform similarly. You shouldn't reach the performance throttle point of heat with either though. However, if you plan to OC, that will be a factor.

But, to give you a short answer, the Sapphire is the better of the two :)

you are over thinking it man. The brand discussion is pedantic at best. just get whatever one is the best priced at the time. radeon is going to be cheaper right now especially for used as mining is no longer profitable. nvidia is more expensive but it does have much better drivers and physx. you get what you pay for.

Their memory and core clock rates are overclocked just a tad more, which you'll be easily able to surpass on the Sapphire. The Sapphire is also less expensive on Newegg, by about $50 I believe.

I am indeed overthinking since my knowledge around hardware is rather limited so I dont want to regret my decision.

Sapphire is indeed cheaper on newegg but it doesnt ship to my country, msi and powercolor are 30 euros / 40 usd / 23 ? gbp pounds cheaper here
