Will D-SUB Drop quality

Solution
Analog VGA connections can drop significant quality depending on the timing circuits of the graphics device sending signals, cable used to transmit those signals, and quality of circuitry in the screen used to sync with and decode the signal coming from the computer. It is advisable to have the screen resynchronize to the timing signal from time to time, to make the image decode more accurate.

HDMI and DVI- connections both transmit video using the same method, so will have the same video quality, but can be subject to degradation and dropout if poor cabling is used, as there is no significant form of error correction on the video being transmitted. If you need audio and in some cases networking transmitted via the same display cable...

D-sub is analog cable. so you could lose quality if you have sommething like a 12 feet cable but with normla cables you should see no differences. D-sub support 1080P so you shoulddn't need HDMI or DVI cable to use 1080P display.
