watchdogs still a laggy mess, should I just give up on it?

I have a an r9 and an eight core and this game still runs at 20 fps while driving. Can anyone recommend any settings that would not really drop the quality too much. Anyone with experience of running this on ATI cards can advise what antialising settings to have or settings in general. It seems to lag no matter what. I had hoped new drivers and patches would fix it but they have not.

I can't agree with that cause i7 plus 780 get better fps than 780 with fx fx 8350 but yeah they're good budged cpu's for sure can't argue with that r9 290 should have more than 20 fps as i remember r9 cards are from 3gb to 6 so its not problem with the texture quality 1080p http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGk8OyHm54g it looks fine but a bit laggy so check your temps or run some scans for mawbytes or viruses.

What r9? Amd cpu's aren't that good for gaming no matter how cores they have.Watch dogs id crappy unoptimizted game even 780 ti dips to 30 fps 1080p,also ati/amd are even worse in this game cause the game isn't well opimizted for them to.

an r9 290, to say AMD processors are not good for gaming is a bit much they are not as good an intel, but are a decent budget processor. The processor has maxed every game thrown at it, does that not count as good. I agree its an optimsation problem.

yeah you just proved my point they are not as good an intel as you stated so you have agreed :) Its a 4 gig version, did not help nvidia have the monopoly on the optimization of this game. Seems odd many people with ati chips are still having problems. like gta but not funny. Thanks for the help.
