HELP with adapters pcie

So I have a aero cool vp650 and my gpu is a r9 290. 50 mins or so in games my pc locks up I have researched my issue and it is suggested to use another cable for the 6 pin needed instead of two 6+2 pin connectors in one cable.

The gpu requires one 6 pin and one 8 pin

So I was thinking of trying the two Molex to a single 6 pin adapter

And for the 8 pin required a two 6 pin adapter to 8 pin

Would this work fine and be optimal or should I change something I could run the 8 pin via 6+2 pin in the cable but it doesn't seem optimal to me.

Ps I'm planning on getting a new psu soon this is just for the mean time and how long should I run furmark or unigine for to test

Probably wouldn't run any stress tests on the card with that power supply. Really should be labeled as a 500W by todays standards.

What they meant was that you should power the GPU using power from both of the rails in your power supply. One rail of your supply is not enough to run the card independently (basically each of your rails has the exact amount of power to run it on average, which means it will over current when the video card stretches beyond the average)

You could get by with the adapters, but depending on the power consumption of the rest of your system you might be overdoing it.

Certainly the 8-pin adapter should be the PCIe coming from the supply. With luck, one of your cables with the 4-pin molex on it is on the...

Well iv been running furmark for 2 hours while watching the fight club and everything is good my graphics cards max heat is 82 degrees no problems it fixed up the pc crashes i had 30 mins in a game ect. No crashes yet :)
