Didn't choose the cpu and gpu but they are what I have. I also have 16GB ddr3 1866 RAM, 120GB SSD and and 640GB 7200 rpm HDD. Finish my build (PSU, mobo, + anything else like cooling and additional drives) for around $300.
Again I am using CS6, mainly for HD video, Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, so I need fast performance, SATA III, etc. If you can fit a good case in the budget then go ahead, but I don't need one and I want high quality components. Thanks and have fun!

I know this wont be an amazing editing rig, but do the best you can with the restrictions! Stretch the budget to $400 if you absolutely have to...

The ASUS M5A97 R2.0 is good. For the case, a Cooler Master HAF series case is the best bang for your buck. I use the HAF 912. For the PSU, a 550 W XFX Core Edition PSU would be good. For cooling, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO or Corsair H60 would be good.

Thanks, my AMD processors are pretty power thirsty (6350 is 125W)...are you sure 550 W PSU is enough for intensive usage and maybe some OC'ing?

Definitely. My 270Xs and my 4770k hold up perfectly fine on 750 W, drawing around 600 W. My 8320 with my 270Xs used 650 W. One card is around 450 W. Remember - I am overclocked.

Thanks alot Andrew Buck. Also is there any advantage of the $170 price range motherboards over the $70 range besides more ports and expandability? If I only need 3 SATA ports and a few USB and 1 pciE will a pricier mobo grant any performance bonuses?

Not really, besides some unnecessary things. No, it will not. If you want to upgrade to a second GPU, you need 2 slots.
