I just ordered a new gaming build which will be here this weekend and should be assembled shortly after however I am interested in reading up and researching more about overclocking so I know how to go about it.

Here are the specs I'm working with:

CPU: i5-4690k
CPU Cooler: Corsair H80i
GPU: XFX R9 280x 3GB Double Dissipation
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z97MX-Gaming 5 Micro ATX

I'm looking for maybe some advice on how to actually go about overclocking these pieces as I want the most performance from these pieces. Any help is appreciated on how I can actually go about overclocking as I have never even really looked into it or done it before, thanks for any help!

OCing a GPU is a lot easier. You just need a third part application (MSI Afterburner is considered the best) and a GPU stress test like Unigine Heaven or Valley. You simply increase the frequency a bit, loop the stress test, and repeat until unstable.
