I have a HP computer that turns on but it turns right back off. It will not even load up to the HP screen that lets you hit F1 or anything. I have taken out the ram one stick at a time and put it back in one stick at a time. What is the cause of the computer not turning on? I have never had this problem before so I am stumped on what is causing the problem.

I put in a aftermarket corsair CX 430 and that is what is happening to it now after I put it in. And it is brand new.

Does the old one still work? see if it does. Is everything plugged in? including the CPU power supply and the 24Pin motherboard cable?

-Actually, come to think of it, I remember HP motherboards having a Proprietary plug for the case components. that includes the power button, reset, lights, and hard drive led. I remember it being a small white brick shape. Is that the case with yours? what model hp is it?

scratch that, sorry that makes no difference in your circumstance... I was thinking you replaced the whole case for some reason. Never mind. Still try the old one out, and/or make sure everything is plugged in correctly. Either that or return the PSU. What did you need it for? a graphics card?

HP p6720f I just tried the old power supply that I took out of the PC and it does the samething. It turns on and turns right back off. And it turns right back on but it does not go anywhere.
