what do you guys think. will i be able to overclock my cpu with a 212. Also what is different between a asus hero and a asus-a i dont see why i would spend 100 dollars more on it but im having doubts since i bought a gtx 780 and a i7 4790k i feel as though my mobo is not worthy of them lol.

  1. Yea that MB is fine. HAs 8+2 phase and heatsinks for OC, 2 16x 3.0 slots, 5th gen compatible. All the stuff you need with none of the junk. Good choice.
You get a sata-express and 8x-sata6gb ports on HERO as opposed to no express and 4x-sata6gb ports on 97-A.
  2. And as far as the cooler. Intel chip dont get hot like AMD's so an EVO will be fine. Wont need to OC the 4790k much. Its a beast already!
  3. hmm im pretty sure it has sata express but what im wondering, if it would decrease any performance from my gtx 780 and i7 4790k i.e overclock potential and maybe some fps.

The chipsets are the same. no difference in performance.
My bad, your did the hero didnt. only 8 sata6gb instead of 4
