All serial, usb, ps2, firewire connections of my built-in (on the motherboard) connections have failed. Other wise computer boots and works fine. (Just can't use keyboard or mouse, or anything that connects to these ports) Can I get a multifunction card with these connections to insert in a motherboard slot, and expect it to work?
The only one I've found is for an express slot, which I don't have.

Theoretically it should work.
Then again all those ports did just fail on your motherboard, which could be a sign of a larger issue with the motherboard.
Also if the card that you buy ends up needing drivers installed it may be a little difficult without a keyboard or a mouse.

If I can find an adapter card it should recognize the new hardware, as it boots up an loads fine.
