Hello all,

So, this is my first time building a PC. I am a college student studying mass communication and journalism. As it is, we work with a lot of audio and video editing. I want to put together a machine that can not only handle this but do so quickly.

As I mentioned above, it will be mainly used for editing but I would like to game a little bit too. However, I'm not hardcore into it as I am usually on a console for that sort of thing.

I don't want to spend a ton but I understand that to get something worthwhile you have to cough up a bit of cash. I'm comfortable in the $1000-$1500 range. Nothing over that!

So, I went onto PCPartPicker and put together some things that received good reviews without going overboard. Please, tell me what you think? Are there cheaper options for these parts that won't sacrifice too much power? Any help is greatly appreciated. Especially if it is lowering the price. :)

The prices listed below will be the tag given to them on PCPartPicker. However, I do live close to a MicroCenter and could save some money there, particularly on the processor. Are there any retailers or places I can get PC parts for cheaper and still get quality? Ebay even? Again, any help is great!
