Trying to update BIOS

Hey, so I'm trying to update my BIOS atm but whenever I go into Q-Flash it won't detect my USB stick.

So I've downloaded the drivers for my MoBo (Gigabyte Z77X D3H), formated my USB stick to FAT32, then I extracted the files to my USB stick, rebooted and tried to update with Q-flash but it's not picking any kind of device at all. I only have one USB stick to try with at home, is there any other way? Or perhaps a fix to my issue?

  1. It has to be below a certain size and formatted properly.....

I usually load mine right off the SSD/HD from within BIOS.

    It's a 1gb usb stick
  3. I have had difficulty with various USB sticks w. BIOS files, ISO's etc.... soemtimes MoBos just don't like em.

I just don't see the logic of downloading the BIOS to HD, formatting the USB stick, copying it to the stick and then loading it off the USB ? Any reason why not right off the HD ?

How would I go about doing it right off the hard drive then?
  5. I haven't done Gigabyte build in 2 years ....everything's been MSI / Asus

With Asus for example, I go to the tools page in BIOS, select EZ Flash, select the Drive, select the file and hit LOAD.

    What does Manual say ?
