I am planning on a build for a computer sometime this november. And the intel cpus are just farrrrr to pricey, and I don't plan to upgrade for 2 - 3 years, I guess what I am asking is will the AMD FX 8350 CPU allow me to run games coming out in the next 2 to 3?

More about : cpu years

Yep; that should be fine. But the Intel i5 isn't so much more expensive.

i know how good the 8350 is at overclocking, but would you say a i5 is better in certain aspects over the 8350?

Its better in almost all regards. If you have the budget I would recommend the i5 lineup.

The i5 is better in every aspect in terms of gaming. Also, the Intel route has better upgrade path. There's no future upgrade in the FX line. That line is dead.

i5-4690K if you're overclocking. i5-4690 if you are not overclocking.
