So I am considering building a PC for the first time. I have a rather small budget. The parts I am planning to purchase are:

(CPU) AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
(Motherboard) Asus M5A97 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard
(Memory) G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory
(Hard Drive) Seagate Constellation ES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
(Video Card) XFX Radeon R7 265 2GB Video Card
(Case) BitFenix Merc Alpha (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
(PSU) EVGA 430W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply
(Optical Drive) LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer

I'm really new to this, but am I missing anything? Is the case good, or the PSU wattage sufficient? What could be improved? What could be sacrificed? Any thoughts? thanks!

***EDIT*** Another question: would i need any CPU coolers or case fans? Thanks!

More about : build opinions appreciated

Yes. Sacrifice the new case for one you find at the tip. Buy 1600 mghrtz ram instead of 2133 (it makes no difference with a graphics card installed)
and put the change towards an i5 4440 and an H81 motherboard. You can get a flash case later, but you will be living with your other choices a long time.

FX CPUs can use 1866MHz memory with one DIMM per channel or 1600MHz memory with two DIMMs per channel. Asus M5A97 R2.0 is dual channel motherboard. Overclocking is required to use DDR3-2133 memory.

A minimum 500 Watt Power Supply is required for XFX Radeon R7 265 2GB Video Card.

hmm, what do you mean "Sacrifice the new case for the one you find at the tip"? good call with the RAM -- i would have to overclock to even use the 2133. And i'm not so sure about the i5, as it is around 200 dollar. Compared to the fx 6300, which is around 120

Great call with the RAM, I'll have to get 2 4GB 1600MHz instead of the 2133, if I understood that correctly. Maybe this? Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

And wow, I didnt realize that i needed a better power supply. I'll try to find a better one with 500W
