Hello, I have recently purchased the Steel Series Siberia v2 (non usb) headset.

My problem is that the sound is very quiet. While playing games or watching videos there is a dramatic difference in quality and loudness of my new headset vs my old. It sounds as if every sound affect is coming through a tunnel. I've looked everywhere online for a solution and haven't found a solution, but others have had the same problem.

I'm guessing it has to do with my motherboard. Maybe it's non compatible with this heads. My motherboard is a z68 Asrock extreme3 Gen3. Is there a solution out there? If not, would my best option be to buy a new sound card to install onto my motherboard? Please help, thanks.

There is no drivers for the non usb version. It connects directly to the mic and speaker jacks.

Have you tried the back and front jacks?

Yes I have tried both. I've also tried messing around with all the speaker settings and play back settings. Nothing has worked. Everything is up 100% and I still have the same issue.

I've had the same problem as you, just that I was using the USB version (Steelseries V2 Frost Blue) Where it sounds like it's muffled, or like you said, as if it's coming from a tunnel. So I'm not sure, I remember messing with the steelseries engine but since you're using the non usb version eek. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.
