New DVD is Write Protected, Can't burn anything to disc.

So I have a set of brand new, 250, 3.5 Gig, DVD-R discs. I have burned to them with my computer in the past, but all of a sudden, when I went to burn a few ISOs to a DVD, ImgBurn told me "Device not ready unable to recover TOC." So I went to My Computer, and double clicked my brand new DVD. It (Windows 7 Home Premium) asked me how I wanted to use this DVD, as a USB Flash-drive, or With a DVD/CD player, but the DVD/CD Player option was grayed out, I couldn't select it. So I just chose to use it as a USB Flash-drive (Live file system) only to be told that the BRAND NEW DVD-R was write protected. So I put in another DVD-R hoping this would solve the problem, but to no avail. I have burned other DVD-Rs from the same set before, and they worked, but now, none of them are working. I have checked for new driver software, uninstalled software and rebooted. I have also tried going in through the Registry Editor, but that didn't do anything. I already tried changing the drive letter, and that doesn't work either.

Seeing as how I have no other computers, I can't just use a different one. I would be eternally grateful to anyone who could be of assistance. Thanks in advance:wahoo:

I had a DVD burner that suddenly stopped burning discs. Turns out, it had failed. Had to buy a new one. Same types of errors as you're reporting.

Of course, my DVD drive was about 5 years old at the time, and had seen a lot of use.
