Crysis running slow on gaming Rig

You can definitely try disabling sli and see if it increases any. But no way will a 760 play ultra. My best guess is sli 760's will do high graphics. That's about what I got when I played, and I have 770's.

As for the new i7, it should help a bit. Crysis is a demanding game, cpu/gpu wise.

For OC'ing the 760. First thing, I believe it had nvidias boost technology in its drivers (my 770 does), which means it will run as best it can to stay in the temperature target. Overclocking Nvidia cards is a lot harder and less rewarding that with amd cards. Factor in your running sli, so if your overclocks aren't both good and very close to one another on each card, that could lead to artifacts screen tearing and other stuff. So I would just keep the cards stock. Way to much work, with way to much that can go wrong and lead to even more work, for maybe 5fps gain at highest.

As for your graphics card, depending on your motherboard, power supply, and cpu cooler, you should be able to get a easy nice 4.4ghz on stock volts. Not sure it would help to much, as I think your right about even between gpu's and cpu. But it really wouldn't hurt anything except you'd disable all power saving features so you'd use more electricity each month. But that said, your talking a few dollars at most, and at stock volts its a modest gain, but its a free and easy modest gain.

My 8350, was my first pc built since the amd atholons just came out, I think it was somethink like the x4 or something. But a good 10 years ago at least. It was also my first overclock ever. I got mine to 4.8ghz within first week of ownership, and on a corsair h55 cooler. Which isn't the greatest but about even with a coolermaster evo id say. Within a month I had a new case and dropped about a grand into custom cooling loop. It took about 4-6 weeks, but I finally got my 8350 at 5.2ghz stable for a week long prime and haven't bsod or anything yet. It took another month or two until I could get my temps to drop and keep my stability. So that last 4.8 to 5.2 took about 6 months in total, but that first 4.0 to 4.8 was quite easy, and didn't have to touch voltage until about the 4.5 ghz part.

As for crossfire/sli. I've never liked it. To much noise, to much power, to much hastle. I had crossfired 7870's about march and those lasted until about march. 2 days, couldn't get anything to work right, and when I finally did, just like you, it was a modest and very modest gain. Of about 10fps. For all the haslte. So I just bought a gtx 770. Which everyone says I was stupid, as 7870's offer better performance (idk how I never got crap from them together), but I liked my 770. Plus I do a lot of cuda accelerated work, so the NVidia was pretty sweet. I've since then gotten another 770 and sli'd them with minimal effort. Went from high settings with consistant 60fps, to ultra consistant 60fps. Havent tried crisis on the new setup yet, but as soon as it goes back on sale I will.

Was reading through some new reviews, and found one for the titan black (which is awesome as within months ill be picking up two of these!). But, it reviews the gaming part of this card, not the computing.

Anyways heres a link showing that even a titan black ($1200) cant even run crisis at ultra high settings at 60fps.
