My computer needs your help! Today the computer installed some windows updates and restarted, and after that every time I opened an application and pressed a key on the keyboard that program would stop responding. The program will work if I am in safe mode or if I only navigate with the mouse.
I've had this problem for a while but before today everything would work as long as you ran those things as administrator.
Please help!

I think there's a problem with the 7/10/14 Win 7 updates pushed out. My In-Law's computer was in a last good state prior to around 848am EST on 7/10/14 when a bunch of windows 7 security updates were downloaded and auto installed now.

Getting clbcatq.dll error (corrupt or missing) on login screen. Cant restore from last known good restore point as it's saying the HP C: drive is corrupt. Running SFC now to see if that fixes and start up recovery (this is like the 6th time I've run that btw). CHKDSK got through a quick routine then it was better but couldnt open any program from the desktop without getting Critical Error's, running CHKDSK now again and it seems to be running through more items and taking longer hoping this one fixes it...

I tried both the system restore (I restored to about four hours before this happened) and I also tried the user account method. Neither of them worked...

Basically try safemode with Command prompt then do sfc /SCANNOW and keep trying that it, then a CHKDSK once you get it stable enough to do that.
