Hi all,

I'm trying to build a PC that will use 4k capabilities, but I understand the extreme cost of 60+ FPS gaming on 4k. I'd be happy with 1440p gaming atm with a potential to upgrade to 60+ FPS later on down the road. I have a 4k TV with 6.5 ms response time, I know it's not the best, but it's not terrible.

Here's the build, I'm slightly over my budget but don't want to skimp on anything that's "worth it". I don't plan on OC.

Your graphics card is aimed mainly for 1440p so as of now with that setup don't be planning on playing 4k. I think that on 1440p though you will be getting 60+ frames on ultra so not bad just don't expect similar result with a tv that has more than twice the pixels as a 1440p monitor, not going to happen.

So I'd still be able to play on the 4k TV and it would look good, just not utilize the 4k HD without dropping to 20-30 fps max, right? I would like to add a 2nd one of those cards after a few months, which would probably enable the 4k abilities, wouldn't it?

Yes and in my opinion 20-30 fps is unplayable no matter what anyone says. But having two is actually what I would recommend. That will allow for good frames and allow for you to use all of dem pixels.

I'm not very knowledgeable about overclocking. Would it make that big of a difference if I got the unlocked 4790? It's only $15 more so that would be doable, but I don't really plan on OC'ing at all, because I don't feel confident about it and I'm not sure how big of a difference it would make.

Ok here what i suggest ... its cool config that you are going for ... but if you play games that take a lot of video memory .... 780ti will not perform that great so you need more video memory ... but if frame is not a concern for you 780ti will perform great ...and in-between what monitor you looking for ?
