I'm not getting very good frames on low settings, my res is like 1250x1050

My parts: amd a10-6800k Richland
Evga GeForce gtx 760 2 gb
2 tb hdd
600w power supply

If I purchased a amd fx-8350 8 core, would that make a difference

your gpu to cpu to screen size ratio makes your system very gpu heavy so it may be bottlenecking. 1250 is fairly small for such a powerful gpu and your cpu is relatively weak for the gpu, the cpu may have 4 cores but there not particularly strong.

try setting your game to ultra with x8 msaa and see if your minimum frame rate increases. this will tell you if theres a bottleneck.
can you oc your cpu? if you can and the fps increase its a cpu bottleneck.
if increasing the image quality brings higher frames it could be a screen size bottleneck.
if its not that then
turn off the apu gfx in bios. nvidia have been known to turn parts of there drivers when an amd gpu is present. not sure if it applies to the amd apu's but its worth checking.
make sure your not using x8 FSAA/MSAA or any other kind of AA stick to x4 or less when gaming if the above doesn't show measurable change.
use ssao or hdao on nvidia cards rather than hbao which works best on amd.
using nvidia specific AA methods like txaa may increase performance over than of msaa, so if you have the options in your games use them.
make sure you reset the nivia control panel to defaults and if necessary disable the inbuilt game profile for testing.
