I got a new intel i74790 cpu yesterday and straight after set up the bios showed the temp as 40c and after day of light use it goes from 40c up to 70c mainly at 50 and 60 degress. btw im using a stock intel heat sink but even with stock heatsink isnt 41 idle to 70 way too high. do you think i should replace my cpu or try a cooler the reason im thinking replace cpu is even with stock fan it should be at 25 to 30 degrees idle not 41 right ?

Idle 41 is perfectly fine, it is the load temps you should be worried about. I might be biased, but I always, absolutely always, recommend everyone to get an aftermarket cooler and avoid the stock one, regardless of what the PC will be used for. I have seen so many overheating problems due to the stock cooler, cant even count them. I suggest Cooler Master Hyper 212X.
