Whats up y'all,
I am an aspiring filmmaker and a college student at the same time (yeah im broke) and i am trying to build the best post-production computer that will blow every other computer out of the water. I have saved up some cash to buy the parts plus i have my family willing to invest in my computer build. Heres the thing, i know NOTHING about computer parts and builds, but i know how to edit like a mofo on one. I am looking for 2 parts list... High end(top of the line) computer parts and Low end(bottom of the line) computer parts. But here are the requirements... Fast ram, massive storage space(2TB-4TB), Multiple USB and HDMI ports(4-8 each) and an amazing graphics card. I will be using Adobe CS6 as my primary editing software. At the end of the day, i want to build a computer that will still be kick ass in 6 years(Note: obviously i will be upgrading it as technology gets better) Pleas if anyone knows a thing or two about film making and editing computers, please help me design the most kick ass post-production computer

Oh yeah easily. Here's a build I would suggest for that price range without monitor, keyboard, mouse:

CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme 99.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($94.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock Z97 EXTREME6 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($144.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Z Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($159.99 @ Newegg)

What's your budget? Let's start there. Also a few things to point out:

1. Are you going to want AMD or Intel? For video editing you definitely want Intel.
2. You're not going to find any GPU that has more than 1 HDMI port, and even then you should be using DVI D-Link as it will allow you to use the maximum resolution and refresh rate of your monitor(s).
3. For CS6 you definitely want to go X79, having a good GPU helps, but having a good CPU is even better.
4. Some things to consider: You should get a fast SSD like a Samsung 840 Evo or a Crucial M550, that will speed things up considerably. Fast RAM should be considered especially for overclocking.
