Hello,

Recently, i changed the coolingpaste on my CPU, and apparently in the process of removing it, i bent a single pin on the CPU socket. I have bent back the pin, as best as i could, and the PC starts up fine, until the "Starting Windows" logo appears. After that, the screen goes black, but everything else is running fine, and the startup sound from Windows plays. I can sometimes get it to start up in normal mode, but when i do, i get the error message "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I can boot into safe mode no problems.

So far i have tried reinstalling the driver for my GPU, and System store to a couple weeks back. Is the bent pin really the cause of all this?
My rig:
I5 2500k, @3.30 gHz
Asus AsRock B75M-GL R2.0
Cooler Master TX3 Evo
Micron C400, 120 GB SSD
MSI Twin Frozr II Geforce GTX 560
4GB Corsair 1333 hz ram.
Corsair VX550W PSU

I am running Windows 7, build 760, Service Pack 1.

Best Regards
Victor

It's very hard to bend the pins back perfectly and yes, just a hair off can cause problems.
