Hi, i have a question. I am using a gateway nv47h08y. And my laptop specs is:

Windows 8 64-bit

Intel core i5-2450m~2.5 Ghz

4gb DDR3 RAM

500gb hdd

and a 'intel hd graphics 3000'.

And my question is:

"Is it possible to change the intel hd 3000 to a better one?"

thanks

Solution
Intel HD 3000 is part of the CPU ie your laptop doesn't ctually have a graphics card, it has 'on-board' graphics, rather than discrete graphics.

It is unlikely that you will be able to add a graphics card - I've yet to come across a laptop where you could - but tell us the exact make/model to be sure

And next time you might consider a self-build desktop - the key benefit is the upgrade-ability....

The ability to change your mobile GPU is not widely available, especially for mainstream consumer laptops. Sorry :( your best bet is to purchase a new laptop!
