Hi everyone,
First time posting on here.

I need some advise on getting a new graphics card, my old graphics card recently packed up.
My set-up at the moment is:
Crosshair IV Formula Motherboard
AMD Phenom II 2.8 GHz, True Six Core Design, 9.0 MB Total Cache
Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound card
8GBs DDR3 Ram (Tho I'm looking to buy more at the same time with this graphics card, maybe another 8GBs)
3TBs memory
750W power supply
Maybe re-format to windows 8 but I've got windows 7 atm 64bit

My old graphics card was a GeForce GTX 480, I'm mainly looking to be doing video & Picture editing & rendering with Premiere Pro & After Effects. Programming & 3D animation editing & rendering for gaming with 3D Max 11. Plus maybe a bit of gaming on the side!.. I've been looking at the GeForce GTX 770, but I'm really not sure, as I don't have a depth of knowledge about this kind of stuff.

Any adivse or recommendations would be much appreciated!
Many many thanks!!

Edit: Also, a little confused, as when I write GeForce GTX 770 in google, it seems there are different types. So now am even more lost as to what I'm looking for! :/ My mother board has a PCIe x16

Ahh okay, thanks for the reply! :)
when I type it in google, they all seem to be just under that range so it's good, but there seems to be different types of the GTX 770, for example, theres the:
Asus GTX 770 Direct CU II 2GB GDDR5 HDMI DVI DisplayPort PCI-E Grpahics Card
Palit GeForce GTX 770 JetStream 2GB GDDR5
EVGA GTX 770 SuperClocked with ACX Cooler 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card
at this point, I'm really not sure what to choose, there are more as well... :/ any idea what would be better for me?

Either the Gigabyte 2Gb version, or the MSI 2gb i'd say!

Thanks again for getting back to me.
I have one last question as I've been looking into it a little more. I found a couple of GTX 780s that are just under £300, so I might stretch to get one if it's worth it, what do you think, heres the link with a couple on there, only ones under £300 I'm interested it, any chance you could have a quick look & let me know your thoughts, what would go best with my system?
Many many thanks,
much appreciated!
Alex

To be honest, you won't notice much of a difference if your only gaming on one monitor at 1080p, but if you feel that you need that 10~% performance boost, and you have the money, go for it!
