Hi, i want to add a new video card (amd r9 270x) and have the typical space issues. my hard drive blocks most current cards.

My question- does anyone know where one can buy UTX form cases. mother board P8 h61-M LX2

if not is there a way to retro fit the board into an atx case?

if not can i change out my hard drive for a smaller form. im guessing my current form is 3.5 (its 4 inches long) and want to know if a 2.5 form is an option

if not does it make sense to move the cpu (i5 2500k) to atx form motherboard - there is this option at newegg

ASUS H61M-A LGA 1155 Intel H61(B3) HDMI Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

my hope is to not invest heavily in getting the new card installed, im planning on doing a major upgrade after the release of broadwell so any cheap suggestions highly appreciated thank you!

If I understood it correctly...
You have a micro ATX motherboard and a micro ATX case. Then you bought an R9 270X which is being blocked by the HDD (does not fit the case).

You are asking if you should...
- buy a new micro ATX case which would fit your components
- buy an ATX case
- buy a smaller form of storage device
- buy an ATX motherboard??

I think the most convenient way to solve your problem would be to buy a budget case. The cheapest way would be modding your current case.

The motherboard you linked costs $50. You can use that $50 to buy a new case to fit all your parts. Then use that same case when you upgrade in the future.

Remember to look at the case specs when buying to be sure that the GPU fits. You should also know the length of your GPU. Make sure that the case supports micro ATX.
Here would be an example http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139041&ignorebbr=1
The maximum GPU clearance for that case is 414mm (from Tech Specs of http://www.corsair.com/en/carbide-series-spec-01-red-led-mid-tower-gaming-case)

Here is a link to other cases in that price range: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007583%204025&IsNodeId=1&bop=And&Order=RATING&PageSize=50

thanks! i was looking for a good link on how my form is utx and just found this:

"The UTX, or uATX form factor is analagous to the Micro-ATX form factor. The UTX Asus P8H61-M LX2 should fit into all ATX cases, but its smaller size allows you to downsize your system build as a whole. Its size comes at the cost of features, so there are likely to be far fewer connections and expansion options available than in a larger motherboard." - taken from http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/Asus/Asus_P8H61-M_LX2/1288

as you can guess case form is new to me and it would be great to confirmation if i can use this case fractal r4
http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define-series/define-r4-arctic-white

if so then perfect since thats the case ive been eying for my future upgrade.
