I have recently configured a new set up on Part Picker and had a few enquiries to make.
Firstly, my RAM, I'm going to be doing all kinds of work to do with College and of course gaming. So I just went for a pretty good decently sized kit and clock speed to cover me for all possibilities. Firstly, how does the clock speed compare to the latency? Will I be sacrificing much by having (possibly) too high a clock speed/latency? Also, what's the difference between Vengeance and Vengeance Pro. To my knowledge, Pro is marketed to be better Haswell architecture and such.
Also, my monitors: Are there any other IPS monitors I can get that are very strongly recommended, if they don't include speakers can they be perhaps cheaper so I have some slack left over to buy a pair of speakers (I'm well versed in the audio department so I'm fine there). As well as that, straight up without any adapters or splitters, can I run both monitors through the HDMI to DVI cables connected to the DVI and DVI-D ports on the 780 using the cables that come with them or will I need something additional?
Finally, are the case fans needed or are they just an extra cost? If they are needed how many should I buy?
Any feedback as well as a review about how well/poorly my set up is configured is appreciated. Thanks
