So I have a blocked debate, I currently have a amd a10-6800k Richland cpu, but I just bought a evga GeForce gtx 760 . Now I'm afraid it's time to upgrade the cpu, I have boiled down to two choices. A amd fx-8350 8 cores processor, or a i5 -4670k quad core. What do u guys think, is there a huge difference in performances that makes the price jump worth it?

Parts: amd a10-6800k Richland quad core
Evga GeForce gtx 760 2 gb
Corsair 600w power supply
2 tb hdd
Asrock micro fm2 motherboard
8 gb ddr3 ram
Couple of fans

The i5 will be superior. Most games utilize up to 2 cores. A few that use more are (but not limited to): Crysis 3, Battlefield 4, Watch Dogs. In those games, the FX-8350 will be good. That's not to count the i5 out. The i5 will still play them better than the FX. The major problem with the FX line is that AMD left it to focus on their APU line so FX is dead. There is no direct upgrade to the FX-8350 as of now.

I would recommend the 4690, or if you are willing to spend the extra money and overclock it, a 4690K. If you buy either of those, you should be set for 5+ years.

The 8320 / 8350 are other good options if cash is an issue. I would suggest the i5 because I personally don't want to save a buck on one of the most important components in my computer.

The i5 overall would be faster. The 8350 does not fit in the FM2 so a motherboard would still be needed there.

I'm sorry I don't know much about AMD motherboards. I don't want to guess or give bad information.

As for the i5, you want a Z97 motherboard to pair with the 4690 or 4690K. I'm a long standing fan of Gigabyte, but ASRock, Asus, and MSI also make good products. There are alot of options to choose from with very little performance difference honestly.

Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 for the i5-4670K. For the overclocking, you will need an aftermarket CPU cooler.
Asus M5A99FX Pro R2.0 for the FX-8350. Again, for overclocking, you will need an aftermarket CPU cooler.

The cooler depends on how high you plan to overclock. For an average overclock, a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus or 212 EVO will suffice. The Plus is usually $10 cheaper and will only be 1-2C lower than the EVO. For high overclocks, either a Noctua NH-D15, Phanteks PH-TC14PE, or Corsair H100i. For the AIO coolers (like the Corsair H100i) that I mentioned, you do want to make sure your case can support the radiator. For extreme overclocking, go with a water loop setup. That will be very expensive to buy all the parts.

x16 is just the bandwidth of the lane. Currently, no GPU out there will saturate a PCIe 2.0 x16 lane, so you'll be fine even if you install it on a PCIe 3.0 x8 lane. Heck, even PCIe 3.0 x4 is fine for your card.
