Go to control panel>sound>playback devices. Then right click on the Output you're using (should be labeled "SPDIF") and select properties. In the rightmost tab (should be labeled "advanced") select Dolby Digital 5.1 instead of 2-channel sound. If you don't have the option to select 5.1, your motherboard doesn't support it.
