I'm getting really confused...

So I'm planning on getting the Sapphire Vapor-X Tri-X R9 280X:

http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1227&pid=2131&lid=1

and it has 2 x 8 pin power connectors.

So from the PSU which wires would I need to use.
As there's like a tonne of wires and I have no idea which connect to which.

At the moment, I'm looking into buying the Corsair CXM 750W Semi Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply:

http://www.ebuyer.com/429987-corsair-cx-series-cx-750m-atx-power-supply-cp-9020061-uk

Would that be a good decision?

And recommedations on power supplies would be really helpful.

The XFX is a much better power supply. XFX units usually carry a 5yr or longer warranty.
A psu will have several power leads with a 6+2 configuration. They may be labeled as pcie.
Those will attach to your graphics card.

Corsair is so so quality, I might spend more for Seasonic or XFX which is usually made by Seasonic.
Here is one: http://www.ebuyer.com/413806-xfx-proseries-750w-power-supply-unit-core-edition-p1-750s-nlb9
Modular is not worth much to me. You will use most of the leads anyway.
In a decent case anything unused can be laid aside out of the cooling airstream.

Most psus' use a 6+2 pci-e power connector that works in 6 and 8 pin slots. I would suggest avoiding that CX unit if possible they uses cheap secondary capactors that have longevity issues and my own experience with them has not been good(4 out of 5 failed after ~1yr). Sapphires 750w reccomendation is way overkill the GPu uses a max of ~250w at it stock speeds. A good 550w PSu would power it in most systems, maybe 650w if you want a bunch of extra headroom, but 750w is about enough to run 2 in crossfire. Get something from tiers 1 or 2 in this list http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

The XFX is preferable made by Seasonic. Corsair makes some terrific PSUs, but their CX series is their budget line. While they're not *terrible* PSUs and they're a lot better than the dime store junk PSUs people will try to use, they're so-so and there are better PSUs at the price.
