I recently bought an SSD hearing all the great things they can do. The problem is, I already have quite a bit of stuff on my hard drive. I want to boot from my SSD since it's faster, but I heard to do that you have to reformat your hard drive.

P.S. I have 2 2 TB Seagate Barracudas in my system if that helps.

Given "quite a bit of stuff", the best way is a clean install on the new SSD.

Your existing drives won't necessarily need to be reformatted, but all your applications will need to be reinstalled.

There's multiple other things that need to be done, but it's pretty easy.

I got the 256 GB Samsung 840 Evo (Non-Pro). I was going to get the MX100, but I found this one for not much more money and heard it was more reliable.

Also, would it help to move everything over to my other hard drive (the non-boot one)?
