Hi! Im... well not new to overclocking but not a professional in it so i need help, Im going to overclock my FX-6300 to 4.3Ghz from 3.5ghz (Cooler: Hyper212 EVO) but im not sure about my mobo. It is Asus M5A78L-M . So is the overclock possible?
It claims it supports 140 watt CPU's and a 6350fx is clocked at 3.9ghz and i actually think you will be good try clocking it at 4.0ghz on stock voltage and then test and repeat
Overclocking isn't just some crank you wind up to make the clock go faster, it requires both dedicated hardware and software. You need to do extensive research just to figure whether you can do it at all with the computer you have.
You should also be aware of the consequences for doing it wrong.

Well, i could try that but i have heard that VRMs heat up pretty badly, not sure but i think i will try that 4.0ghz clock.

My near reseller doesnt provide ASRock but what about Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
I own the sabertooth probably overkill for your CPU its a great board
Also your board can run 125watt(unless you own the 3.0 board then it can consume 140watts) CPU's your 6300 is only a 95 watt cpu you could probably get it a little higher as is but the best option is to buy a new board.
