I'm looking to upgrade my computer, I am not great with conputers but I'm willing to pay a fair amount to get it working for games. Bf3, MW3..games like that.
My specs (emachine)

Windows 7
-AMS Athlon 11x2 235e dual core processer
-NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE integrated
DVD super multi drive
-750 GB multi drive
-6 GB DDR2 memory
Any help would be much appreciated!

Here is a good low end gaming pc with some good upside. Swap the GPU and add a cpu cooler later on down the road.

I feel like $600 is pretty close to the point where just buying a new machine is more worthwhile than trying to upgrade. You could probably carry over the HDD, case, and optical drive. But at the least you are looking at a mobo/cpu/ram/gpu/psu upgrade to play modern games, which is essentially a new system.

If you don't want to upgrade your entire system, I'd just get a better CPU and GPU. Looks like Newegg has a special on this GPU, and both parts should be compatable and the power requirements should be fine. You don't need a PSU connector for that GPU, you only need an open PCI-E slot.

CPU: $100 AMD Phenom II X4 970

GPU: $115 MSI GTX 750 Ti 2GB (after rebate)

Thank you all for the help, every answer has helped since i an just starting to learn about it! If I need to buy a new machine then I'm willing to pay more then double... Around 1500 or so. I thought maybe a couple of upgrades would do it. I'm better off with a new machine. Any recommendations for that price range?

This will do you right for years to come. Little OC'ing of the CPU and your good to go. Got budget room to add a second monitor if you like as well!
This set up is whisper quiet as well. Enjoy!
